Hi there...I have been off work this past week...I can't say I'm looking forward to going back tomorrow...but I keep telling myself that it's only 4 hours and that will soon go!
We have had quite a busy week....the weather has been mostly gorgeous...so we did a little walking, a couple of gym visits for me (I really need to go more often looking at the latest photos!) We fitted a trip to that well known Swedish store, so I have a now beautifully framed print that has only been waiting to be framed since Christmas! Whilst we were there I looked at the fabrics...as a girlie must do! I got 2 bargain pieces....and I made a skirt with one of them....bought the fabric in the morning, made the skirt in the afternoon!
I really need to lose a few pounds!!!
I have also had some lovely post this week...I won the new set of Girlie stamps from Lili of the Valley, which are gorgeous. Then yesterday, some lovely Girlie stamps designed by the very clever Tracy Easson landed on my doormat....I had to wait until today to play......
She is beautiful, isn't she? I was so excited about finishing her, that I haven't punched a hole and added ribbon at the top yet!! It seems to have been ages since I have got generally inky, painty and messy and it did take a bit of practice and a bag full of recycling before I got the background I was happy with! She's coloured with ProMarkers for her skin and then Coloursoft pencils over the top and for her top...I have extended her a bit and used the dream stamp from the same set....She looked a bit like she was floating on the tag and I wasn't sure how to ground her...I did have the bright idea of cutting the tag..which didn't work, so I glued and stapled it back on!
I am hoping that just a tiny bit of Kate Crane's talent will rub off on me....I'm going to my very first workshop in about 3 years on Saturday with Kate at the Craft Range in Burnley, getting colourful with ink sprays I think! Then in July I'm taking part in the Art Journal Summer School...so hopefully learning lots of new techniques......
Thanks for looking..
