Blommin' Marvellous...

Morning :)
Today I'd like to share a Tag I made for a friend.
I started with 4 colours of PaperAtsy paints and brayered them onto my Tag...I then coloured over them with my DIs.....and did a bit of water splattering! The gorgeous flowers are from a stamp set by the very talented Jo Firth Young.....♥ love these....

I coloured with my pencils and then put Glossy Accents over the top....I love these Derwent Coloursoft pencils as I can use Glossy over the top without the colour moving...I coloured the ribbon with my favourite DI...Mustard Seed :)

I'm glad to say that my friend loved her Tag :) Thanks for looking...

Probably Not...

My finest hour!!!! Or day :)

Hi there...it's mum's birthday this week..so I thought I'd better get making a card for her!

I have been having a serious de-clutter of my stamps...I had far too many that I didn't use, so lots have gone to nice new loving homes :) Think my 'mojo' went with them :(  But on the plus side I do have a nice tidy room now...........and still oodles of stuff to play with......

Think my House Mouse stamps may be the next to go.........don't know why I chose to use one....apart from the fact that mum is always knitting!

This is a huge stamp, so the card is an 8x8" one..The image is coloured with my new favourite pencils....Derwent Coloursoft...love them  :)....Background papers are by HOTP..........which I have had for years!!!

Thanks for looking.........have a lovely, sunny?? Bank Holiday :) and I'll see you soon....

Here Comes...........

May!

Hi there.....I've really surprised myself...I'm keeping up to date with my Art Calendar and really enjoying it!!

Here is May's page....

I used my PaperArtsy paints for the background and brayered them on. I used some stamps made by the super talented Kate Crane. I added the little Bird by PaperArtsy, as there was a bit of a gap between my Journalling Tags!

I've also made a start on my backgrounds for the next few months!!

This is for June....

July.....

And August!...........I realise most of my lovely flowers will be covered.......but I'll try and make sure they are peeping through!

Thanks for looking....

First Christmas Card.........

of the year made!!!

Hi there........I wanted to play with my new Derwent Coloursoft Pencils  so I decided to have a go with a design I may just use for some of mum's cards, as she likes the 'proper' Christmas images!!!

This is one of the first stamps I bought and I'm ashamed to say haven't used very much at all.........It's a wooden mounted (my favourite!!) stamp by Inkadinkado....I've just coloured the image with my pencils and used my Gathered Twigs DI round the edge. I put Glossy Accents on the flower. The paper is a magazine freebie by Kaisercraft.....

I just finished with my favourite corners, Card Candi, button and Craftwork Cards sentiment.

Thanks for looking.

Keeping It........

Clean and Simple.........AGAIN!

Hi there. I have been longing to get my inky mitts on the 'Sun Kissed Fleur' set for ages.........finally got it :)

So I thought I'd see what it looked like coloured in with my new pencils (addicted to pens and pencils as well as stamps!!!) Derwent Coloursoft.....I love them, they are lovely to use and blend like a dream.

The card is quite small....probably about 4" square, so just right!! Simply stamped with Memento black ink and then coloured........

The quote is one I've had for ages.......

I also made a matching ATC...

I added Glossy Accents to the flowers....the pencils are so good, the colour didn't bleed at all.

I'm entering these into the 'Simon Wednesday' Challenge...........the theme is  'Keep it Clean and Simple'.

Thanks for looking.

Dad....

I hope I make you proud..........

Today marks TWO years since I lost my dad........I can't quite believe it...

The pain and the 'rawness' is still there.....I would give absolutely anything to hear my dad's voice again and give him a big hug.....

Here are my lovely mum and dad 10 years ago, on their Golden Wedding, just after he was first unwell..

We almost lost him then, but thanks to the wonderful care he got in Glasgow....(mum and dad were on holiday when he got taken seriously ill,) he was with us for another 7 and half years before he got pneumonia and his poor body could take no more........

I have found this beautiful poem and it sums up how I feel......I hope he would be proud of me and how I've coped.............

Missing you dad and love you. xxx

I Hope I Make You Proud Dad

© Jodie Ogle
I hope I make you proud dad, even though you're no longer here,
Your memory grows stronger, with every passing year,

At the end it was a battle, one you weren't to win,
A fight against a demon, no choice but to give in,

I wish I could've said goodbye, that evening when you left,
Told you you were my hero, and that you were the best,

Tears I cry in secret, at night before I sleep,
Wishing you were beside me, you'd be forever here to keep,

The years don't make it easier, they said the pain would go,
It seems I've just got better, not letting my feelings show,

Wishing I could hold your hand, to shout your name aloud,
You're no longer here dad, but I hope I make you proud.

I'll catch up with you soon, give an extra hug to your loved ones and hold them near.

Socrates!!!

Hi there.......

The words for the next Craft Barn challenge are

KNOWLEDGE / HURT...

I decided to go with Knowledge........I was going to use the 'A little Knowledge is a dangerous thing' quote as this was the first one that popped into my head!!! But after doing a little research found a better one....

I used a smaller Tag this time around.. The background is created with an Alphabet stamp by Crafty Individuals, I then used my DIs to colour it...It still looked a bit 'flat' so I found my Alpha embossing folder and embossed it!
My lovely Lady is off 'Ancestors 3' by PaperArtsy. She looks as though she has a cold, bless her!! She's stamped onto an off cut of Mountboard, coloured and triple clear embossed. The quote is computer generated.

The little corners are just more off cuts of Mountboard triple clear embossed and then I added a layer of gold embossing powder and stamped into it with my crackle stamp. Due to my usual great camera skills, you can hardly see them!!! Just rubbed over with Treasure Gold, as is the little button.

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up with you soon.
