My 'Charlie'.........

Bag!

Hi there.....it's been such a long time!!!

Not much in the way of paper crafting going on, but I have been sewing!!

I have made 2 lovely new sets of curtains for our bedroom.........and I needed a gift for a lovely friend at work who has just retired and is going on a long holiday to the USA........I thought she might like a new cosmetic bag....and being a bit strapped for cash I thought I'd make her one!!!

I turned to the lovely and very talented Debbie Shore and her 'Bags Galore' CD.......I love ♥ this CD and the 'Betsy' Bag is next on my list!

I have made the 'Charlie' bag off the CD....

The fabric is a gorgeous Liberty print in Tana Lawn which I have had since I worked there..........ooh I must have had it 23 years...........that's scary! It was just a small off cut as I made a waistcoat for mum just after I bought it!

I am really chuffed with it.....especially the pattern matching and the zip! Which of course neither show up in my great photo! I was going to take some more photos as the inside is also lined...But as usual I was on the last minute wrapping and only had time to take one photo!

I put lots of little goodies in it and I'm pleased to say she loved it...

Thanks to Debbie for the very clear instructions and taking the fear out of sewing zips in! It must be 30 years since I sewed a zip in anything...but I'm not scared of them any more!!!

Thanks for looking...

Paris....

Again!!!

Hi there...

Today I finished a double LO of our trip to Paris.......

I really must learn how to take a photo properly!! My excuse this time is that it was dark and I was relying on my small lamp............

It all started with this sketch  and just sort of developed into a double LO!! I did have a plain card as my background, but after cutting and sticking fast!! some die cut corners I had to do a 'piecing' of patterned card....the air wasn't quite blue....I was determined to rescue it ...........The gorgeous paper is from one of my favourite pads...'Olde World' by DCWV. I only had a couple of off cuts so it was fun trying to peice it all together!! I do think some of the pattern is upside down on one of the pieces.......but you have to look carefully!! I actually much prefer the printed paper...so a happy 'accident'!!  The little Button stickers are by K&CO... I just finished with some Alpha stickers...which luckily peeled off and re-stuck down!! and Card Candi..

The smiles definitely do say it all...............my most favourite place in my most favourite City!

Thanks for looking.......

These take my LOs to 7 :) so keeping up so far and loving it!!

Paris...

Again!

Hi there...
I am very slowly sorting my photos! It's a very long job! I am also choosing my favourites to be 'scrapbooked' the others I have plans to scrap 'Project Life' style.......

Here is another LO with photos from my very first visit to my favourite City and also my favourite Church...

The Sacre Coeur is the first place I want to go whenever we visit....even with all the crowds there, there is an incredible peacefulness. I fell in love at first sight with this magnificent building.

This sketch  was my starting point! And it just sort of developed! I cut a photo into a circle to replace the heart. The background card has been stamped with a Tim Holtz 'Paris' stamp. I then stitched scraps of paper along the top and bottom corner and also my torn inky tag! A Rub-on, Alphas and some Tim Holtz tickets which were stapled on complete my LO.
I really enjoyed making this and love the finished result, it brought back so many happy memories!

ps...I am trying to make at least a LO a week....I am just a couple behind, but intend to catch up!

A Couple of....

Tote Bags!

Hi there..........

I haven't done any card making for a while.....I am taking a little break from that, until I actually need some! I've been busy though......

With sewing, amongst other things!

I have been itching to make a bag or two for a while and whilst browsing online I came across this fabulous (well I think so!!) Tote bag pattern... When we were in Ikea I bought some gorgeous fabric....being a bit scared to ruin it, I had a practise run!!

I am so glad I did!! Not only have I another bag to use, but it also made me realise that I had to be a bit more accurate with my measuring......the sides don't match very well!! But I love it!! Just using up some of my scraps....the Berry fabric is Tana Lawn from Liberty from when I worked there...it must be 25 years old!! I never throw anything away! I have lots of Liberty fabric from those happy days and it's still in great condition.

Here is the bag I made from my Ikea fabric....

It's so bright and cheery...AND I have enough to make another one, using the fabrics in a different order.

I have also made a Handbag........but I'm just trying to figure out the best way to photo it!!

Thanks for looking.........I am also continuing my Scrapbooking and recalling my love affair with Paris....more of that tomorrow......

Thanks for looking..

Paris!

Hi there..........

I am really enjoying my Scrapbooking :)

Whilst I had my gorgeous 'Bonjour' papers by Kaisercraft on my desk I thought I would make a start on my Paris photos! These are from my very first visit to my favourite City.....to celebrate my 40th Birthday...

I loved every minute! Looking through these photos brought back so many happy memories.

I have added some rub-ons and charms. The gorgeous flowers are a Spellbinders die. Looking at the photo you can see the daily countdown to the Millennium!

Happy days!!

My Lovely....

Mum and Dad........

Way back in 2011 I made this page as a present for mum and dad...

We framed it for them....

I have been itching to make a similar one for us and last week I actually managed it!!

Slightly lighter in colour and a different photo, I am so chuffed with it. We are going shopping for a frame later this week.

The gorgeous paper is from the 'Bonjour' collection by Kaisercraft....Sadly now discontinued :(  I wish I had got some more when I had the chance......

Thanks for looking..
