Socrates!!!

Hi there.......

The words for the next Craft Barn challenge are

KNOWLEDGE / HURT...

I decided to go with Knowledge........I was going to use the 'A little Knowledge is a dangerous thing' quote as this was the first one that popped into my head!!! But after doing a little research found a better one....

I used a smaller Tag this time around.. The background is created with an Alphabet stamp by Crafty Individuals, I then used my DIs to colour it...It still looked a bit 'flat' so I found my Alpha embossing folder and embossed it!
My lovely Lady is off 'Ancestors 3' by PaperArtsy. She looks as though she has a cold, bless her!! She's stamped onto an off cut of Mountboard, coloured and triple clear embossed. The quote is computer generated.

The little corners are just more off cuts of Mountboard triple clear embossed and then I added a layer of gold embossing powder and stamped into it with my crackle stamp. Due to my usual great camera skills, you can hardly see them!!! Just rubbed over with Treasure Gold, as is the little button.

Thanks for looking and I'll catch up with you soon.

If Nothing Changed.........

There would be no Butterflies........

Hi there........

I did intend to enter this Tag into the Craft Barn challenge..........but realised I'd used 'Changed' instead of 'Change'..........so I didn't think it would pass!

Loved making it though!!

The background is created with DIs and then over stamping with my Tim Holtz Butterfly set. I also used this to stamp onto Manilla card, which I then coloured with the same DIs as the background. The Quote is computer generated. I just felt it need a little 'something'........I opened the drawer where I keep some of my 'bits and bobs' and the first thing I picked up was this Butterfly brad!!!

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon...

Clean & Simple????.............

Hi there.....

These two words are not often seen on this blog...................

Yesterday, I felt at a bit of a loose end...........After a couple of hours with my cross stitching (which is coming along nicely, but slowly!! and I'm really enjoying the process again!) I thought I'd have a little play.......

Totally unsure what to do I thought I'd have a go at a 'One Layer' card.........EEK.......what was I thinking of???!!!  I need a flat-ish card to post and thought this would fit the bil!!!.......

So armed with my pencils and my gorgeous JOFY stamps, here is what happened!!

This is, I think my 3rd attempt!!! I just couldn't keep the background white!!.........So, armed with my soft 'putty' rubber I coloured this one!

The card is an off-cut from an A3 sheet after I've cut my usual 7" card out.......The fold is at the top....The sentiment is a Penny Black one, just silver embossed...

I really enjoyed making this, so aim to make some more!! I'm just so glad that my colouring didn't look like a 3 year old had done it!! It took me a while to get used to colouring with my pencils again!! I used these lovely Staedtler ones...

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon.

Vanilla in PINK..........

Walking the Dog!!!

Hi there.....it's my niece's 19th  birthday next week (how did that happen???I remember her being born........)

Here is the card I made for mum to give her.......

I have used  'Vanilla'  by Penny Black.......my brother has recently got a dog and she does take it out for walks, but he's a bit bigger than this one!!!

I've used an old  Sketch and Stash sketch and the papers are by Dovecraft.

She is coloured with my Spectrums and my new obsession......my Spectrum pencils. Love ♥ them, although I am still on a steep learning curve with them!

I just finished off with the 'usual suspects'!! Ribbon, flowers my favourite corners and Craftwork Cards sentiment.

I can't believe I haven't got a stamp that says 'Granddaughter' or a peel off even!! So I used some peel off letters.........Trying to be really good and use old stash (like the papers and the letters!!)

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon.

Unity.........

Friends With Flair :)

Hi there........It's been ages since I've been able to play with my Unity stamps......but my niece's birthday is coming up, so I thought I'd use one of Fashionista stamps.......LOVE ♥ these!

I have used 'Alexis'......She is coloured with my Spectrum pens and pencils......I'm saving up for some more pencils...love ♥ these!

Background paper is Dovecraft and I've added my favourite corner, flowers and some ribbon. I coloured th Craftwork Cards sentiment with my Spectrums as I didn't have anything this colour.

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon.

Change..........

Hi there...

The words for the next Craft Barn Challenge are.........

CHANGE or TRUTH

I decided to go with 'Change' for my Tag.........

I have made a Butterfly Tag, but realised that the word was 'changed' and I didn't know if I'd be able to enter it.....I'll share that one later in the week......

No apologies for using my gorgeous girlie again! 'SHE was a daughter' by Christy Tomlinson for Unity.

I have had this coloured and paper pieced on my desk, ready to go on a Journal page.......I forgot to move her whilst using some sprays......so she is now slightly speckled! The background was done with a Donna Downey stamp and lots of embossing, then DIs over the top and Tim's Butterfly stamp over the top of all that! I then used Treasure Gold around the edges and a piece of German Scrap at the bottom. I added an old foreign coin at the top...another 'change'!!!

The great Quote by Mahatma Gandhi is computer generated.

Thanks for looking and I'll see you soon...

April.........

Better late than never!!!

April already........where is the year going??? !! I have had my page made since the beginning of March, but never got round to blogging it!!!

Here it is.....

The page is coloured with Acrylic paints......I've used Dylusions stamps round the edges and my gorgeous 'Moon Girl'  by Stampotique... I used 'Single Tear'  also by Stampotique on my petal for the 26th........my dads 2nd anniversary.......I can't believe it's nearly 2 years since we lost him......

The page has come out dark.......but then I knew it would do.......I have had my sprays and lighter paints out though and have started lighter backgrounds for the coming months.......

Thanks Kate, I'm really loving taking part again.......Look here for the other fabulous calendar pages......

Thanks for looking........I'll see you soon.
